Pre-Treatment Care

Updated: Dec 2, 2022

The Actual Microblading Prep If you want to get the best results possible, microblading prep is a very important step.

  • Don’t pick, tweeze or wax your eyebrows at least one week before the procedure

  • You should avoid drinking coffee or alcohol on the actual day of the procedure

  • Do not tint your eyebrows before your treatment

  • Do not go sunbathing or tanning at least a 3 days before your treatment as the skin will not react well to the pigment

  • Avoid waxing or plucking eyebrows a couple of days before the procedure

  • Avoid any facial treatments at least 2 or 3 weeks before the procedure

  • Make sure to wash and style your hair before the procedure as the microbladed brows must not come in contact with water at least a week

  • Avoid aspirin, ibuprofen or other pain relievers a couple of days before the procedure as they are blood thinners

These might be the most important things that you need to have in mind before undergoing the procedure, but here are a couple of extra tips to make sure that you get the wanted results:

Extra Prep Tip #1: Talk to Your Brow Artist

Talking to your technician about the actual shape and colour that you want. Tell your own ideas of what kind of brows you want, and see if this can be achieved. Of course, you should listen to what they have to say. Not all of the brow shapes are perfect for each face type.

Extra Prep Tip #2: Feel Free to Show Photos to Your Brow Artist

If you have any brow shape that you particularly like, you can always take a photo with you and show it to the artist. If it’s a photo of you with drawn brows, even better! This way you will know if the shape suits you. However, if you have no idea what kind of brow shape you want, don’t worry. The artist will measure your face anyway, and draw the shape he or she thinks is the most appropriate. If you’re unhappy with the drawing, speak your mind and they will make certain adjustments.

Extra Prep Tip #3: Show Up On Time

Finally, it’s very important to show up for your appointment on time. If you don’t, there might be less time left for the actual procedure, which can affect the outcome. You don’t want your artist to be rushing through your procedure!
